If I was a new manager with a good knowledge of our present squad then I would attempt to get rid of Dunne Agbonlahor Warnock and Hutton.Delfounso can go on a free .I would get back Makoun and play him with Herd and Delph.Although he gives the ball away far to much Delph does have talent and is worth persevering with. Weimann shows promise but not a lot of class rather like David Geddis who scored a few in his time with us.Albrighton is worth one more season and N'Zogbia may just turn it on with someone else in charge

But the fact is McCleish is still there and until he goes the club cannot move forward.

Well who would be a good example of an experienced player that we could or should get then?

I think we may already have signed him - Brett Holman!

Can't agree with that at all I'm afraid, I just don't think that Delph has ever shown that he's Premier League quality.  He just looks like a complete headless chicken.  Again, that may be due to coaching, but I think we just paid massively over the odds for a young player who just isn't that good.

Are Liverpool in for Bent yet? Our annual off season disruption by the dippers must be going to begin soon.

I think there's talent there.  He has good technique, a good engine, isn't afraid to put himself about (needs to be a little less exuberant maybe).  He did give the ball away a lot early this season but, like Bannan and to an extent Ireland until recently, that's mostly down to passing to space rather than feet, and then seeing the intended target just standing around.

I'd be half tempted to give him a go as a left back as well, with a bit of confidence I think he could do a good job of providing the overlapping threat we need out wide.

Left wingback for Delph, with a back three.

Delph has always looked better as an attacking player. Never been sure why since he joined us he seems to be used more in a defensive role.

People think we are going to get Hoilett ?  how come

I actually think if we got a proper manager in, we'd be a very sensible move for him. We are a potentially big club and look what we did for Ash. If he moves to Tottenham or someone like that it could hinder his development as he won't play lots of games. So I could see the sense in it, however it won't happen and he'll go to Tottenham I expect.

Paul , IF !!  ;(

Hoilet and Phillips would make us extremely dangerous with Bent, Ireland and Gabby too. A new manager with some foresight would be great, although with rumours of Comoli at the game on Sat, I could see him drawing up our next few transfers and redesigning our scouting system.

I thought getting Ngobia would make us dangerous . It doesnt matter what player comes , McLeish can turn a promising player into turd.

Possibly slight ambitious, but Clint Dempsey. If we had the correct manager and a bit of ambition, he's in his peak years.

Rumoured Arsenal or even Manure.

I've still not given up on Delph, I think he has the potential to be a cracking player with the right guidance and a rocket up his arse. If i recall he only recently signed a new long term contract.

I agree.

I have no idea where, how or even if it'll happen but he has the right tools to be a brilliant player. Unfortunately none of our recent managers have much of a clue how to bring it out of him.

*turn the sound off*

Let him attack more and maybe we'll see the best of him?

I sort of agree that there is a player in there somewhere.  And fully agree with PeterWithesShin that he's better getting forward and is a waste in a more defensive role.

However, we've had three managers with him here, five if you include caretakers, and none have either gotten the best out of him or trusted him enough to be a egular.  Sometimes ability isn't enough and you have to ask how many chances he can be given with players like Herd and Gardner coming through?

N'zog's knack of running into blind alleys makes Shaun Wright-Phillips a veritable Lionel Messi. Can't recall what he was actually like at Wigan anymore, but now just seems a waste of a lot of money.

It seems odd how the manager courted him for so long, yet now he's got him, doesn't know what to do with him.
