I'd send Hutton on his way with McLeish and get an experienced guy to compete with and mentor Lichaj. Maybe Bosingwa.
Or go for another youngster ilke Clyne.

I thought Hutton was dreadful yesterday. Playing Herd in his place against Spurs might be a good idea, i think he'd cope with Bale a bit better.

We couldn't afford Boswinga's wage demands.

Why, how much are they then?

General web chatter is saying that Inter can't afford them.. so put two and two together

Cylne, Mariappa, Guthrie and Moses would be a decent start.

General web chatter eh?
In any case, it was only an example. But I very much doubt that Inter would struggle with a Bosman signing and his wags but if Bosingwa was taking the piss with his demands he should be ignored. That goes for any player.

Olic, fletcher, pogbreynak, Would be decent shouts upfront
Olic has signed for Wolfsburg.

As for Rafael on loan, why would we want to do that rather than playing Lichaj?

I like lichaj's commitment. But he's looked poor on the ball and positionally to me.

In fairness he's playing out of position on the left, which makes him tend to hoof the ball clear at the first opportunity.

I'd rather see Gardner play more instead of signing Guthrie.

But if we have issues with a right-back with positional problems, signing Rafael is like a team signing Heskey to deal with their goalscoring problem.

Did you miss the 'speculation' bit in the title of this thread?

Wouldn't mind Izaguirre at left back.

Not much speculation in your comment "We couldn't afford Bosingwa's wages", you were stating it as if it was fact when actually it was bollocks off the internet!

Why, is Boswinga a Mormon?

I agree about some of his ball-usage but I think his positional play has been pretty good: he covered for Dunne and Carlos a couple of times yesterday through good reading of the game. Certainly way ahead of the experienced Hutton in terms of positional play.

Maz, I would bet a large amount that we cannot afford Boswingas wages.
