We could have the best scout in the world, who could find us the next Lionel Messi but he'll still be coached by Peter Grant.  Does anyone know how this bloke keeps a job in the top league?

Perhaps he threatens them all with cricket bats... or is that the wrong Peter Grant?

Isn't Paul Montgomery our head scout anyway? Roeder might do some scouting for us but I don't think he's in charge of scouting.

I've just read elsewhere that Gary Megson is scouting for us.

Gary Megson?  It just gets worse.

He'll be managing us next at this rate.

Jesus wept.  I can't take much more of this.  Gary Megson.

I understand Mike Bassett has joined the scouting team too following a long spell out of work.

Maybe Dave Benson and Trevor Hedges can form a new defensive partnership?

Mike Bassett had more idea than Eck I fear. At least there is a bit of brilliant poetry and an appreciation of flair.

I fear Eck would be more a fan of the naming of parts.

Hopelessness. Sums it up for me. Can't see where the next win comes from. He really does need to go.

Because they'll increase their wages and potentially raise their profile and either help move us forwards or use us as a stepping stone. That's my thoughts anyway.

Surely with the current wages policy, its not a given that players will increase what they earn.

I would imagine even a fairly low Premier league wage would be higher than an above average Dutch, Belgian etc one.

I find it faintly ironic that everyone is up in arms about the standard of Mcleish's scouts when MON's scouting network consisted off who he'd seen on the telly and failing that, who Sidwell rated. Maybe if people had took a bit more interest in the failings of our scouting network 5 years ago when myself and others were shouted down by the vast majority we'd actually have a bit of dosh left with which to employ these top name scouts

Apart from the fact that most people did question why MON only bought expensive British based players and seemed allergic to having his scouts use a passport, it's a great point Greg.

eh?  I’m pretty sure that one thing everyone agreed on with regards to MON was his scouting was shit to non-existent.
