Linked with some winger from Motherwell this morning.

Oh my giddy Aunt.

And so it begins.

Oh what a summer we're in store for. I still get up every morning with the hope that Mcleish has gone, it's like some horrible nightmare currently.

Don't care who we sign as long as we keep the young players. McLeish, to my mind, could sign who he likes, he'll still perform in the same way, and you've got to believe Randy would get rid if that happened (especially with further backing this summer). If, when he's gone, the kids are still here, we'll be alright. If he sells Bannan, Albrighton, Clark, Baker, Lichaj, whoever, it'll be a real shame.

Sky sports "understands"

Not seen him myself but others on here seem to rate him, so not a bad bit of business.

Kello may be ok but the bad thing is that it's a sign of McLeish staying.

The bit I don't understand with this deal is he's previously been quoted as rejecting a move to Celtic because he doesn't want to be second choice - unless Given is on his way out already?

I doubt Celtic will pay him £10k+ per week to be second choice?

I think he mentioned the SPL and being second choice. Might be different in the championship.... sorry premier league.

I actually don't mind so much if we've got to be prudent again and sign Bosmans or cheap players - if the money isn't there, it isn't there, and there's not a lot we can do about it.

It's the idea of another season as grimly depressing as this one that bothers me most, and the key factor to this is the manager remaining in post and carrying on doing what he does - because, no bones about it, this *is* what he does.

I bet Brett Holman's agent is double checking his clauses as we speak

Weirdly I have been pretty impressed with the players that we have been linked with, by that I mean type of player rather than any specific person.  I’d guess that Numan’s scouting deserves some credit there, as much as AMac for appointing him.

Like others, I doubt it will make too much difference as the playing philosophy of the first teams is all wrong at the moment.

I see Mancini is going to sell Johnson for 10 million according to the press. If we do have money, we should be all over him like a rash. Exactly the type of player that can create out of nothing. We are not going to create through any type of game plan, so a brilliant individual would be useful

I'd love him at Villa, it'll be Mons first signing though I feel.
