Jermaine Beckford wasn't that bad t Everton 10 goal in 38 games, don't remember him starting that much either.

I think we can do better than that.

I thought the speed with which Everton got shot of him was very fishy indeed. I wonder if there was something afoot off-pitch?

Beckford's just a shit Darren Bent if you ask me. Classic lower-leagues poacher who gets exposed once he gets to the Premier League and is asked to do more than stand near the goal. I'd rather play Weimann.

He's been outed by Leicester pretty quickly too....

part of the problem with Beckford is that he comes across as a royal cock. It rubs people the wrong way. If he had half an attitude to the game that a coach could work with he might have gone on to better things. Balotelli is disruptive, arrogant and often wing nut and can get away with things due to sheer talent. Beckord ain't no Balotelli.

Weimann is twice the player of Beckford as it is.

If Bas Dost does come we have 2 more attacking options with him and Holman. I still would like a fast winger like Phillips from Blackpool, someone to give us a spark where it may not come from elsewhere. I do wonder where it leaves Gabby or Bent though, and I fear 1 of them may be off this summer.

I'm fond of Gabby but I'm wondering if its time to move on now. He looks void of any ideas or inspiration at a time where he should be terrorising defences. He should always be terrorising defences come to think of it, with his assets.

If a new guy came in and managed to get him playing to his full potential he'd be a great weapon. As it is he's treading water. I expect better of him.

As for a winger, whilst we're raiding the Dutch leagues we should look at Narsingh or Ola John and maybe John Guidetti as another striking option if he is looking to leave Man City for first team football as reported.

Earlier in the season he looked pretty good along Bent and was near the top of the assists league but last few months he has looked poor.Maybe he just needs a goal to get him going again , not sure giving him the captains armband whilst he is out of form was the best choice either...

I think Gabby has become too comfortable at villa and a move away might do him some good.  How old is he now?  surely he should be soon reaching the peak of his career and should be scoring more goals?

As one of my more clued-up b-lose mates used to say about AM 'he kills strikers'.

I'm starting to think he had a point.

I think Gabby has had the wind knocked out his sails, he's a villa fan and it's probably as a result of what is going on at the club, get the buzz back, get gabby back.

Well if he's a homosexual then thats as good a reason as any why not to sign him.
