In any sane world, Heskey would be gone at the end of the season.

But I just don't know what the Villa management is thinking at the moment.

I know it sounds like I'm picking on the bloke or being needlessly nasty, but there's honestly something extra depressing about seeing him lumber around displaying his near total lack of skill in a Villa shirt.

I have nothing against the bloke, I'm sure he's lovely to old ladies and respects his parents and what not, but I just don't want to see the useless lump play for us ever again.

I can't wait for him to fuck off so I never have to see it again.

I don't think we'll go down, though it will most likely require any opposition we beat between now and the end of the season to be in total holiday mode.  Or even more unambitious than we are.

I've just had a nagging doubt for a while that the joyous moment of Ivanhoes departure might occur in an off season when we have just been relegated. A pyrrhic victory, if ever there was one.

Meh. Passed that stage ages ago. To avoid getting bitter, i suggest you think of Ivanhoe's continued selection by whoever rolls up at villa park as a branch of Quantum theory like parellel universes, Schrödinger's cat etc., No-one understands it fully, it just "is". Works for me*

Wish we could find all those posts saying how good he'd be, just after he signed.

File under Marlon Harewood syndrome (O'Neill signed him so he has to be good)

I have a horrible feeling that I'll buy a season ticket and Heskey will sign a 2 year contract the day after.

Just read on the BBC gossip column that O’Neill wants to be reunited with Dunne and Gabby at Sunderland.

So with O’Neill track record at Villa that will be a combined fee of about £25m then.

I just read this >>> http://tinyurl.com/csl7afd and I'm very annoyed at everyones fans favourite Gabby Agbonlahor!  Unless he has been told to give this interview, he should know that the rest of us (FANS) do not want emile heskey at our club next season.

I've had a horrible feeling most of this season that McLeish will offer him a one year extension to his contract. Hope to fuck I'm wrong

If this happens, then I will not go back to VP next season.

We shouldn't sell Gabby.

If o neill offers the reported £7m for gabby id snatch his hand off, gabby has stagnated since mon left and a move would do him good, our squad needs a big overhaul and if the money from gabby and bent helped rebuild then so be it, im just not sure mcleish is the man to spend it!

No, in an ideal world we won't sell Gabby. But what if Gabby wants to go?

This is the other side of our shitty coin, and what's been worrying me for several months. This season is poor; we'll probably stay up. But I think we're at the start of a downward cycle - we're looking forward to cutting the dead wood out of the squad this summer, but there's a high chance some of our better players will be looking to get away, too. The future doesn't exactly look bright at VP, and it's not as if we appear to have a popular manager that the players love, either. I see no evidence of that.

It wouldn't surprise me if Gabby wants to leave. We know N'Zogbia's not happy. I can't imagine Darren Bent is thrilled with what's happened to the club in the past 12 months, either.

I realise that's a pessimistic view from me, but I think we should be prepared. Fear it's going to get worse before it gets better.

I'll quite happily drive Dunne up there but would be utterly amazed if Gabby leaves.

£7million for Gabbs? Jog on Pubehead.

I'd happily let him have Dunne for free though.

Yeah, Dunne can go. We'd be better without him. Gabby has to stay, though. 7m? Absolutely derisory. How much did he spend on Heskey and Harewood?
