Well after a quick scout of the weekend rumours, we seem to be getting tenuously linked with a better class of striker at last.

Bas Dost from Heerenveen and Oliver Giroud from Montpellier, both big centre forwards, both have 'good feet' for big men, which is handy as they are footballers!!

It wouldn't suprise me again as Numan will have had first hand experience with him.

Bas Dost, I mean.

That's Aston Villa's Robbie Keane if you don't mind. Just as it will be when he scores for the Irish at the Euro's

It's clear to me that Heskey is being released and McLeish wants a big mobile CF up top. Ideally with some experience of doing the business. The Russian bloke at Fulham fits the bill and if we are after him he's got a few weeks to prove himself over here. Bagging goals against Wolves won't be enough because that looks like something any one of us could do right now.

What's the deal with the "big russian at Fulham".  Is he only on loan there?  Does his deal run out at the end of the season or something as people talk like he is a free transfer.

Bas Dost is a brilliant brilliant name, regardless of his quality as a player.

I believe that its a six month deal that expires in the summer

Yes, he's a Bosman in the summer. We could sign him now on a pre contract for instance.

Watched LA Galaxy yesterday, Keane took his goals well and could have had a hatrick. Both he and Donovan could be playing in a far better team.

Knowing our luck, we would sign him up just before he breaks his leg in a dozen places and his contract would be iron clad in his favour!
