Wasn't he dead against King but the club did it anyway?

Anyhow, who is the one we are trying to sign now Maz, or just purely on speculation?

I don't have any names. Just going on what he's said recently.
I'd be very suprised if he wasn't after Pogrebnyak though. He's pretty much admitted it.

I didn't think King was at Birmingham last season while McLeish was there, thought he joined during the summer.

I think he said he was while at Small heath, but didn't say he still was now for us.

I can't see how he'd fit in with us playing one upfront and having Bant and Gabby already, unless one of them is to leave?

A quick check on Wikipedia states that the convicted sex offender signed for them on 10/06/11 and that AM resigned on 12/06/11.

Not sure what that proves, but those are the dates involved.

Cheers John. Me neither. McLeish quits in disgust, perhaps? Who knows? (actually, who cares? We won't be signing Marlon King, which is the important thing!)

He's not going to just go off the player though is he? I think his quotes recently blatantly suggest an interest in the player remains.
As for why he'd want him? As a powerful option once Heskey goes. I don't want to play one way and I doubt McLeish does either. I'd like the option to play 1, 2 or 3 strikers of differing types. To have options and flexibilty Then you have to cover for injuries and so on.

I know that was the case with Zigic, but unsure of the story behind them signing the convicted sex offender?

I'm pretty sure that it wasn't one of the signings he sanctioned.

The point I made was more about Burke than K*** and that was McLeish can spot a decent bosman.

Not knocking it from a footballing perspective, but the way I few it is that wages are tight and given this spell at Fulham his personal demands have probably increased.  So, we'd be in a situation where three of our top earners are fighting for one position and having the other two on the bench.  High earners not getting a game was the beginning of the end of the MON era.

Only way I can see this happening is if we're looking at 4-4-2 as the preferred formation next season.

I doubt his wage expectations are that high considering what we pay Heskey. When Heskey is gone we could (I'm guessing) quite comfortably pay the Pogster (as he will now be dubbed) and Holman (Holster?) with what Heskey was on.

And again, I would shy away from expecting to play x - x - x for a season. We need tactical flexibility to stop us becoming predictable and to change things when its not working. I expect we will play 4-4-2 a lot but then 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 or whatever when required. Whatever it takes to get a result.

Guthrie had a really good game against us at their ground this year.

Then again, it was only against us.
