Speaking to the Sunderland Echo, O'Neill said: "Kieran Richardson came to see me in the transfer window and for family issues and what have you, he thought maybe a change would suit him."

I think he would suit as attacking left back ..

I'd be more than happy with him. I've always been very pro Reo-Coker and would take him back. Charlie Adam and a striker a must.

What about Adebeyor if we can get Citeh to sanction wages?

It's sadly gone quiet on the Hutton and Warnock front. Hopefully we can shift them, along with Makoun. Would seem like we need to free up their wages to sign more players.

I might get shot down (with a hail of machine gun fire) but we could do worse than NRC on a free?? I don't think he's quite as horrendous on the ball as some claimed. He wasn't brilliant but at his best he knew to stay within his limitations and give it off to someone better.
I just feel like our midfield lacks a leader, some dynamism, some grit and experience.
I say it for the want of a better option out there who's available and who'd come here.
For all our nice passing, which I appreciate, we could have done with someone to just drive the midfield on and a bit more energy. Diame for the hammers did that. To me he's a similar player to Nige anyway.
I also think with him martialling, KEA would be able to express himself in more dangerous areas.

Right, blindfold on, cigarette lit. Fire away.

We missed NRC last season. We could do a lot worse.

I'd welcome NRC. He and KEA would be awesome for NRCKEA or KEANRC combos. And the fact he'd be what we need. Energy, tackling, leadership.

Signing Nigel Reo-Coker would be a backwards step in at least two ways. Come on guys, bit of imagination, eh?

If Wigan sell Moses to Chelsea we should look to shifting N'Zogbia back to Wigan.

Yes please.

I'll drop him off. He's such a Sasa Curcic.

Such-a-Sasa.  I like it.

As for NRC.  Not for me.

Don't let Reo Coker being a MON signing put you off from him being a good player to add to the squad and possibly the team if we don't improve the midfield.

We are still missing a midfield leader who can replace Petrov, I believe Coker has the capabilities to do that even if some don't consider him as technically good as Petrov. It also helps him being familiar with the club and some,of the players in the squad, its not like he'd come in as a stranger, he'd command respect of the locker room.

I know people want to look further a field especially after appointing Henke, but after last season we've got to be realistic. It's going to be a gradual process.

The thing with Zog is I reckon if we ever see anything decent from him it will not be consistent enough to warrant him being here. All through his career he never seems to maintain any form for too long. Maybe PL can change this but my gut feeling is he is always going to be a frustrating talent.

Think the same can be said of Stephen Ireland as well.

I would bet a lot of money on Ireland and NZogbia not being here this time in 2 seasons, probably this time next year even. Neither are consistent enough to be any good. I would offer Ireland to QPR to solve their lack of midfield madness now Barton is off. He played well for Hughes.

It's not that he's a MON-player. It's that he's not very good. The backward step would be football-wise because he is a more limited player than any others in our midfield.

Besides, if we need another midfielder, it's the opposite type to Reo-Coker. We don't need more drive (anyone notice Delph's surging runs through midfield? I sure did), we might need more creativity, though I'd be willing to give these midfield options a run.

Delph's runs were great. I think we need a combination of strength and creativity to play alongside Delph and Karim.

We already are about three steps behind where we were when we had NRC.

With Henke on board now, maybe he will pull one or two targets out of the hat before the end of August. Certainly be cheaper than any option from England.
