Fletchers a very hard working player. He's managed to score goals for struggling sides in the top flight. Double figures for a piss poor Wolves side two seasons running is no mean feat. He hasn't always played up front either. He's played wide as well.

Anything up to 5 mill and he's a very useful addition to the squad. As some have said, Bent is our main man. We're probably gonna play 1 up front mostly. We have Gabby as another option. What we need is someone happy to be ready when called upon if Bents injured or we play 2 up. Fletcher too, has played wide. He's not brilliant there, but like Kuyt at Liverpool, it's about work rate and willingness to just get on and play.

Any more than 5 mill is too much. Wolves need the money too. I suspect certain clubs in this league will pay over the odds for him.
Owen- no.
Carroll and Ba won't come here unless they're garaunteed to start. We shouldn't be garaunteeing that either.

What about Kevin Doyle? He'll probably be pretty eager to leave Wolves, and I think he's the better out of him and Fletcher. Him and Bent might work quite well together.

After three years of Heskey out of the two of them I'd go for the one of them who scores goals.

Doyle works very hard. The thing is, Fletcher does that too but he also offers goals, where-as Doyle doesn't. Fletchers really good in the air too.

Just saw Klasnic is on a free. That might be worth a look.
As a squad player, yes. Offers more than the Fonz.

Might be worth a go. Surprised he never played more for Bolton, as he's quite a good finisher. He'd be quite happy to be our 2nd/3rd choice I'd have thought.

Doyle? No thanks. Would rather Robbie Keane come back.

Scratch that, he's 32. No thanks.

Wasn't he a potential target? Seems he has chosen the baggies over the more 'glamorous' Arsenal...

If Lambert is looking for a hold-up man up front, I wouldn't be surprised if we were one of the clubs in for Steven Fletcher. It's an area along with central defence that I think we'll strengthen in and Fletcher knows all about the Premier league, right sort of an age and is different to what we've already got.

That's a joke right?  Don't Wolves want 10mill quid for that aging streak of piss?  We could probably buy somebody decent for that price.  I'd rather have Emule back.  Jesus, I can't believe I just typed those words.
he is 24 and goals record is very good. £10m is way too much but considering he cost them £7m and has improved as a player i would think his value would have gone up. All my wolves mates round here in the black country reckon he is the one player of real quality and i completely disagree with you over emile.
Agree rutski.
I've a couple of Wolves mates too, and they reckon if he can score 17 Prem goals in a struggling Wolves team he'd score goals for anyone

he doesn't say that. He just tells it like it is that he's going to a less glamorous club than say Arsenal would have been. There's nothing to suggest he's allegedly choosing the Stripey's over Arsenal.

Not for me at 32.  I quite like the idea of Steven Fletcher though if they knock a couple of million off the asking.

Just playing devils advocate about Fletcher, but he's 25 and since moving to Burnley in 2009, when they were a PL club, he's stayed at that level and scored 30 in 96 games, so a 1 in 3 striker.  Give his age, should Wolves not be expecting a profit given that his ratio has further improved to 1 in every 2.8 games for them?

You'd need to subtract the depreciation in his value due to being a year older, I guess, plus a year less on his contract.
