It might turn out to be a double signing - Lowton AND Guzan?

You could be right Mr Mbert. A young up and coming full back. Very nice indeed. And along with a goalkeeper who if he plays his cards right can be the successor to Given for years to come.

If he is somewhere between Walker and Naughton in ability, then I'll be mnore than happy!

Is he our new Delaney?

Lets hope its the end of TSRB ;)

From the Telegraph:

Villa manager Paul Lambert wants to sign Rennes' £2.5m-rated midfielder Yacine Brahmi. (Sun)

Fiorentina are unlikely to sell Aston Villa target Juan Manuel Vargas, 28, this summer after both clubs failed to reach the Italian team's £12m asking price. (talkSPORT)

Aston Villa hope to complete a move for defender Massadio Haidara. (Mail)

In: Matthew Lowton (Sheffield United, £3m), Brett Holman (AZ Alkmaar, free), Karim El Ahmadi (Feyenoord) Out: Emile Heskey (released), Carlos Cuellar (released), Brad Guzan (released)

That Vargas has not got a good goal ratio..

It wasn't long ago that we wondered why it was only Moyes who could pick up relative unknowns from the lower leagues and turn them into good prem players and now lambert seems to be doing the same. I'm hopeful as his track record thus far has shown he knows what he's doing. Not all transfers work out but if he does then we could have a decent r/b for the first time since probably Gary Charles.

Will we be getting some ITSOTP (or more likely, HTSOTP) pics today ?

Sheffield United fans claim he is somewhere between Walker and Naughton in ability.

Yes, Roy Walker

I think we should reserve judgement on that until we see him play. Then we can say what we see.

Mark Delaney was better than Gary Charles.

The most impressive thing, I reckon, is the speed with which we are starting to buy players - Lambert clearly recognised the squad was very short of bodies, and is doing something about it as soon as possible.

Oh, and those training pics on the OS, Hutton not on any of them.

Here's hoping ...
