The big problem with Berbatov would be work rate.
People moan about Bents work rate, but he's a buzzing bee compared to Berbatov. There's no way on Earth they could play in the same team.

I'd definately go for that Simon Kjaer. Plays for Wolfsberg. Went on loan to Roma. Only 22. With a chat from Mr Laursen, could possibly land him.

I am sure we can get better value for money from France, Germany of Holland.....Berbatov works less than Emile

To be fair Spangley, Emile always put in a shift. Not always productive, but, always a shift.

I mentioned that Kjaer the other day as one to watch. Him and Kyriakos Papadopolous could be our central defensive problem solved for the next ten years.  (or at least they'd have a good sell on value)

Probably going to be shouted down in 10 posts, but... Louis Saha has been released by Spuds hasn't he?  Long history of Premiership football and he strikes me as a man of intelligence who might help develop Weimann.  He is in a different mould to our current strike force and could be used as the much vaunted "Plan B". 
I admit he is injury prone but on a short term deal he could offer something to the squad.  And let's face old Hangdog Harry has been wrong about the occasional striker before, apparently his missus is a better finisher than Bent...

I do hope we've had scouts watching this tournament, Russia and Denmark have some very interesting young talent.

Saha went on loan to Everton, didn't he? He didn't bad at all. Would be a better shout then Owen & cheaper. About that Kjaer dude, seems like a good defender, but the EK is a window for players... Just wait and see how he plays against Russia & Czech.

According to Wiki, Kjaer cost Wolfsburg over £10m and if he's impressing us he will be impressing others too. Looks a cracking player but he's probably beyond us right now sadly. That's the sort of player we need to be identifying but earlier in the career though - before they reach the world stage.

Isn't Holman an attacking midfielder/striker, ergo the Heskey replacement?

I liked the look of that Vaclav Pilar for the CZE the other night, looked very lively and took his goal very well. Winger. Don't know much else about him though!

Maybe Heskey from 15 years ago when he really was very good. Holman attacks from either flank. Heskey was in the end a big lumbering target.
