Signing other people's rejects after a season when we narrowly avoided relegation is just asking for trouble.

Firstly, I'm not suggesting that Leon Best would be a good buy. However, in principle, what is so wrong with signing players who are unable to get regular games for a team that's challenging for a Champions League place ?

Nothing in theory, but I think Newcastle are a bit of an anomaly in that I don't think their squad is up to much. They have however been lifted by a small number of very good players. Therefore the likes of Best, Perch, Ameobi and the like are still crap players even if they're in a squad competing for the top 4.

When I mentioned to Villa fans at work that we'd been linked with Leon Best it got the same reaction, a screwed up face like a bulldog licking piss off a nettle followed by the words fuck off. They will need to replace the season ticket sales number with the samaritans if this keeps up - who will it be tomorrow? I'm predicting Zigic, Elokobi or Leon Barnett.

Guthrie seems to be a reasonable player but I'm not sure he's any better than Herd.

season ticket sales will be non existent if you know who is still in charge and that is not an option, surely not?
We cannot survive another season dong this shite. The attendances will drop along with the revenue from every side of the business. Have we lost the plot or what?

I think Guthrie is a solid signing, performs well enough, sticks a foot in and keeps the ball quite well. And is on a bosman, and would go well alongside Herd.

What have you heard Fletch?
A lot of the backroom staff have lobbied to keep him, they love the bloke and enjoy working for him.

Are these "backroom staff" people whose jobs might be in jeopardy if there's a change of Manager ?

If so, its hardly surprising that they're supporting the current incumbent.

He should be sacked for being the only manager in the league that would be linked with signing Karl Henry.

Well if thats the sort of market we're looking at, then i tend to agree with those that say he's staying. What decent manager is going to jump ship for the chance to work with Leon Best??

Well not a great surprise that, they should all be gone as well if they think our performance has been anywhere near acceptable.

I was going through each of the teams last night, thinking who we could get. On loan I thought Frimpong, Bertrand and Sterling may all be available and could be useful players.

If Bolton go down then Chung-Yong, Holden and Mark Davies all look okay too.

Lee Chung-Young and Holden are both good players.

Miyachi is good too, though I doubt Arsenal would want to sell.  Boyata is probably better than Hutton as well.
