Greg Oden?  Missed 279 games of a possible 361, they shoot horses for less than that.

Oden's "prowess" has nothing to do with his ability to play basketball

I'll add Wilt Chamberlain as well, for his dedication to non-basketball conquests

How about Red Rum?
Was it 3 Grand National wins and 2 seconds in 5 years?

How about Brian Jacks doing his dips on Superstars? 100 in a minute.

Or Duncan McKenzie jumping over a mini and chucking a golf ball the length of a football pitch. Proper iron man stuff

They're all drugged-up puffs nowadays, sportsmen

Anyone that has gone right through the Beep Test, 23 levels!!
Beckham was rumoured to be one of them but it's unconfirmed. In fact they say it's unlikely anyone has done the whole 23 levels. 17 levels is probably the tops...which Seb Coe did (years ago).
Lots of Aussie Rules  footballers are up to level 17 as well..

When teaching A Level PE we discuss this sort of thing; I go for CB Fry (cricket / athlete / rugby player / nutter) and my favourite Ed Moses (undefeated for 122 races!).

The marathon runners that complete it in 2 hours always astounds me...I've run it and can't fathom how they keep that pace up. Incredible stamina.
