I gave Herd a 50/50 chance of making it and to be fair to the lad he really has seized his chance. Whilst others have disappointed, he's gone the other way.
A tidy midfielder who was equally comfortable at full back, he's made his game about tenacity and spirit. If he carries on in the same vein he'll be a darling of the fans.
He was no stranger to the scoresheets in the academy either. He can score goals.

His attrributes (in theory) compliment Gardner and Clark and I could see the three of them forming a useful mdfield at times.

Yes, I suggested those three the other day, good ability and would not be found wanting physically. Plenty of academy graduates in the team would IMO, help Bannan the most. He is the leader of these players, the one they all look for when they get the ball. He in turn orchestrates them, tells them when to make a run, or just give him a return pass. I think we won't see the best of Bazza until he's bossing the first team about and running games like he does in the reserves.

BTW, I can't recommend these games strongly enough. Can't make tomorrow myself (working 2-10) but I will be at the next Villa Park game in early April. They really are magic to watch at times.

Where do they let people sit for these games. It looks like there's no one there
