If both Ireland and the Zog are benched for this one McLeish should have his ginger nuts put in a vice.

We don't tend to win here in the league. Why buck the trend? An easy 2-0 Blackburn win. 3-0 and its the start of what Charlton was on Easter Monday back in 86-87.

Jesus H, I remember going to that game at Selhurst Park wasn't it ?
This season has the same smell of decay about it

the clown is going to have to play Heskey up front with Gabby so I would expect them both to start . If Bent was fit , I would not have been suprised again to see Heskey in midfield with those two on bench .  How depressing.

2-1 to them. Kevin Mac and Sid get yourselves ready to take over.

That's the team, Maz. Or at least it should be the one going out. How lightweight does our midfield look though? Blimey.

I don't think we need to preface anything with 'we will be shit', because that is an absolute certainty. It's just whether we attain our goal of fluking a draw.

I know we play Blackburn a lot.  I'm looking at the poll above this thread.

Have we ever gone into this game over the last few years with the majority saying we'll lose?

Come on, guys; it's Blackburn!

I'd agree but we're Alex McLeish's Aston Villa!

In fairness, as shit as we may be, we at least went to City and had more than 17% of the play.

Christ, we were better than that at the Eastlands under Houllier than Blackburn were on the weekend.

At home they have been battling quite well though recently.

2-0 Yak, Yak,

With much booing and derision from the away fans, followed by Eck claiming that we were unlucky that our half chance in the 89th minute did not go in, as we could have clawed it back from there. But the lads played really well and despite the defeat the fans were brilliant and he will win us over.
