1965/66?  HT Spurs 5 Villa 0
                FT Spurs 5 Villa 5

Not sure if the HT score was correct but the full time score was.

2-0 at Reading in the FA cup won 4-2. Same season 2 down at Palace in the cup, drew 2-2. 2 down in the cup at Crewe, won 3-2.

I'm pretty sure we weren't 2-0 down at Palace, as we either went 1-0 up or levelled to 1-1 before going 2-1 down, then equalising late on. Not being pedantic, but I remember Collins scoring early on down our end.

Coming from two down to beat Crewe 3-2, same as we did in BFR's first game at Sheffield Wednesday. Two down at Spurs and winning 5-2 again in BFR's first season. The day we helped send Coventry down. We also like to give teams a couple of goals start in at least one leg of a semi final. We couldn't come back against Bolton under DOL but fortunately we turned around the Tranmere, Arsenal and Blackburn semis.

Wasn't there a match at Spurs in the 50's or some time back then where we were 5-1 down and drew 5-5?

The Sheffield Wednesday away in 1991/1992 and the Tranmere semi-final were the best ones I ever attended. Honourable mentions to Arsenal at home and relegating Coventry (when will they be back, by the way?).

I think Spurs went 4-0 up, we got 1 back then they went to 5-1 from which we pulled it back to 5-5, then Alan Deakin missed a sitter to win it? Scorers Hateley (4) Deakin (1)??

That sounds about right Bernie.  Myself and the old man were at the Sty that day (shame) and I remember thinking at half time that the previous week at home to Fulham we'd lost 4-2? and thinking that's nine goals conceded in a game and a half.  We couldn't believe it when they put the full time scores up on the scoreboard and saw the 5-5 scoreline, we thought they were taking the piss.  It was only when we'd walked back into town and got the early edition of the Argus that we believed it.

Last night's was pretty good. With better officiating we might have actually won.

Remember that, round the time Atkinson got the boot from them.
