I take it you're sorted now Richard.

I wasn't going to go, but I've been swept along on the tidal wave of Cup Fever that's sweeping H & V, and have just bought a couple of tickets.!

I am hoping to get there Ken through the good offices of someone on here but will have to wait until Tuesday I think to use my booking history + their client ref - unless someone has two spare client references going which fit the criteria and give me access to getting tickets prior to then. As Frank says, it will be just like old times. I also have to say that it is at times like this that one really appreciates the kindness of the 'Villa family' here on H and V

Richard - you can have my client ref if it helps. I'm a ST holder so you can use that one now.

Lemme know if you need it.

It's great to feel this enthusiasm on H&V and elsewhere. Just like old times! Let's hope that the team rise to the occasion too.

Yes, indeed, Frank - I like to get my wife along periodically to remind her that I am not the only Villa fan in the world. It can sometimes feel that way stuck in this corner of West Sussex. I still remember seeing that realisation dawn in my two young daughters' eyes when I took them to the Chelsea 'free coach' LC cup match a few seasons back. They had never met another Villa fan until then and I think they were wondering if Aston Villa even existed. My wife's first match was the Charity Shield in 81/82 at Wembley, 2-2 against Spurs!

Cheers, do you want to PM me in that case as I think I can use that combined with the other one I have who is also a season ticket holder

All sorted, thanks to everyone on here for trying to help out and in particular the two of you whose client reference numbers I have used to get my tickets. And Kingthing for all his efforts via another route. It will be great to see some of you in the pub before the match and to chew over old times...

Talking of pubs, are there any hidden gems around the side streets, not too far away from the stadium, that are not likely to be 'rammed with Villa'? Trying to avoid The Drayton Arms type pubs.

"We have sold roughly 2500 tickets so far. We have took the usual 3000 league allocation first. They are making decisions on the extra ones as and when so i can't see us taking 9000 i just hope we take the 5000. Otherwise the good will of free travel will be messed up by people not getting tickets!!"

I was under the impression we had sold the 5,000...what do you's think?

Pubs pm Kingthing he is our resident cockney Villa fan.

as if by magic.....

http://thefullback.co.uk/

We went here before the League game, great pub with lots of different bars and full of character and a short walk to......

 http://www.twelvepinspub.co.uk/

massive pub that was full of Villa fans and a great place for a sing song and only a short walk to.....

http://www.viewlondon.co.uk/pubsandbars/the-auld-triangle-info-19033.html for a wee and a quick one before the ground.

Avoid the Drayton at all costs, when I've been there its always in the process of being smashed up or closed by the Police due to overcrowding arseholes. Most of the Pubs on the Holloway road will be Arsenal fans only but theres a few on the Blackstock Road, leading from Finsbury Park that could be ok.

Are you going Hoppo?

Shame it's not more as yet. Somebody said they were booked on coach 29 so that does sound about right at present. The club should be getting this free travel offer out in the local media, I'm sure there are lots not aware of it.

It would look pretty bad if Leeds took 5000 there on a Monday night Live on TV and we are strugging with 3000. I know there's another week to go but the Club might bottle it and not ask for the 5000.

Got my two yesterday, I asked about the allocation and the helpful lady on the other end of the phone, after some tapping of her keyboard, said that we had taken 5200 and they had been very busy selling them all morning. She thought they might be wanting some more but couldnt say for sure.

Just ordered more tickets, the nice man said they've sold at least 5000 and unsure if they were asking for more.
