i dont think the atmosphere at home has helped, it's been terribly low key for the most part. our away fans are brilliant.
Spot on Matt.

How on earth did slap head give a penalty for a shot that was going 20 yards wide.
He really has turned into a piss poor ref.

The worse thing was that Warnock was only a couple of yards from the shot and was sliding in,so he couldnt really get his arm out of the way in time.

Boring game due to the awful pitch, but good performance of our academy. And fantastic assist by Richard Dunne, it's a scandal that such a gifted player earns only 65.000 a week!

At least we know Guzan is still the penalty king.

There are plenty worse than Richard Dunne. If you are going to mention their wages Archie, no footballers deserve what they get.

Dunne gets this weeks award as "Clown Of The Week" for that blind back pass. Did he learn nothing from Warnock last week.
I thought Hutton did pretty well today (Can't sat that too often).
Gabby showed great strength and finesse with his goal, I'm pretty sure Emile wouldn't have managed it.
....STOP THE PRESS...I've managed to find a positive from Emile starting today...That's 45 minutes less that Gabby had to play today and should be that bit fresher for next weekend and it didn't cost us the game.
Job done indeed, well done little Brad for the penalty save too.

Clark was outstanding today: he does the simple things well and his goal from CB was pure class.
Petrov really is currently the team's heartbeat. And it was good to see Albie looking better with every game; he seems to have regained his confidence and has a greater maturity to his game. Also, I really liked seeing Guzan in decisive mode: his movement off the line was great. Even the much-maligned Hutton played well although he did not face much threat from BR down his wing.

What can be said about Warnock?! - he did well at Chelsea but since then he has been shocking. I seriously think AMcL should be looking to Stevens and Delph as short-term replacements for him.
Collins and Heskey go off - the hoofing stops. Hmmm: spot the connection.

It was interesting that Mcleish said Clark has a touch of class and 'fills in well at left back and centre back', so he clearly sees him as a midfielder.

Well we won, which is all that matters in a game like that.  Ireland and Albrighton did well, Warnock's slide continues at an astonishing rate.  He really is a train wreck at the moment.

Do you think he has a sauce problem?  Because I cannot explain his demise any other way.

I'd say have a look around that site, they usually have most of the weekends goals.

Bent linked play fine a few times in the second half, got down the wing and put the ball in etc, but he is never going to be like Gabby. I think the stick he gets is harsh, but we have to be more savy to how he moves off a defender. The only player I have seen pick out his runs is Bannan this season.

There was a moment in the second half where there was the opportunity for a bit of a break.  Albrighton I think had the ball but was a bit isolated.  You could see Bent sprinting towards the six yard box, whereas Albrighton needed a player to show for a simple one-two to release him.

It was typical Bent, his first instinct is to get into the danger area, whereas I'd guess Heskey and Gabby would have shown/dropped deep for the pass.

It's not a criticism as Bent is a natural predator but he does make it difficult for the other players to keep possession.

I'm not sure it's a conundrum we will ever solve.  Hopefully Ireland and Bent can get on the same wave length as Ireland seems to have rediscovered the knack of finding space between the midfield and the attack.

Emile Heskey injured again, for gods sake fuck off. Clarke continues to show he could be a very good player.
