Any one remember the Arsenal match over Xmas when Flight Sargeant Rogoff hit the Trinity Road Stand roof and nearly died during that parachute jump display?

Dion double and a sensational 45 minutes from stan.  Amazing game. Sadly overshadowed by the most disturbing few seconds as rogoff dangled there.

I remember it was like slow motion as he slowly tumbled over the edge and fell to the ground.

Horrible

Not to make light of the poor blokes injuries, but I've often wondered how parents explained that one away to impressionable youngsters.

Santa being taken away by paramedics and the whole ground gasping.

Not something any of us are ever likely to forget.

I had to look away as he fell to the ground. Terrible few moments.

And wasn't that game the last time we beat Arsenal at home? 1998?

I was there in the holte, and you could see that the guy was coming in at a wrong angle compared to the others. A horrible hush fell over the ground,a tragic scene. I think I heard that the poor fella died ( not due to the incident)a few years later.

As much as I think a loss is likely I wouldn't put it past us to beat Arsenal then take a pounding at Stoke.

At least Bent said he's fully committed and loves playing for Villa, and I'm going to take him on his word.

"Dressed as Santa Claus for the jump, Rogoff broke his pelvis, hips and several ribs in the accident, and subsequently had to have his leg amputated. Fortunately he survived and the story has a happy ending – Rogoff fell in love with one of the nurses who helped save his life and the couple had twins in 2001."

Shame that Herd and Bent might be out. The other two names are reasons to put the bunting up.
