If people are qualified to represent a country and are the best available, I don't see their nationality of birth as having any relevance.

Absolutely, and I certainly don't have a problem with naturalised citzens playing for their adopted country. But this is talking about speeding up their naturalisation specifically for that purpose, which seems a bit odd to me. Still, I'm afraid it's the Olympics, so I can't get worked up about it!
