It looks promising but then so did last weeks selection. Hopefully, they will be let of the leash as Bolton are poop and we should be able to at least get a draw and probably a win.

Delph not even on the bench? Is he injured?

Well set up to play on the break, but let's see if we can keep the bloody football. I'm not generally a fan of outright 442 with two wingers and two out and out fwds, though Gabby does now seem better able to drop deeper and link play than he used to be. I think it's probably right to play 2 up top, as Bent can only really play there if he's playing in a side that passes through midfield. He's not great if you play hoof ball.

Jesus, I've just heard Pat Murphy wiht his tongue so far up West Broms arse on 5Live he was tickling Woy's tonsils.  Fair assessment of the Villa though maybe a touch too pro-McLeish.

Strangely looking forward to what will most likely be a turgid match. Surely can't play any worse than the man u/spurs games.... and if we do then hopefully it could lead to parting ways with AM.

We must NOT spend the entire game hoofing the ball. We'll win very few headers against their defence.

That's about as an attacking line up he could have used.   If we play anything other than 4-4-2, it's a crime.

Disappointed that Clark continues to be frozen out.
And Tuncay has given us a few problems in the past, hopefully not so today.

liveonlinefooty.com streamed into my AppleTV and output directly to the telly for this one. Ace quality, let's hope the match is as good.

I've got money on Cahill to open the scoring. That's that threat covered.

Bent will like seeing Albrighton in the side anyway. Big game for him. Paul Robinson is utter dirge so he needs to get the better of him. He showed what he is capable of last season and hopefully this will be a day when he kicks back into gear.

Regardless of the personnel though, the philosophy of how we play is more important. If in doubt hoof it out must stop.

Dont think Petrov is able to play in a midfield 2 anymore. Also will be interesting to see Gabby and Bent up front together as both of them prefer playing up top alone or with a playmaker behind them.

That Bolton side is shocking.

I've just got this really horrible feeling again. I really hate watching us at the moment! I'm pretty tempted to just follow it on the BBC
