With Liverpool's kit deal, it just sounds like another way of getting around the Fair Play rules that are coming in.

How so? Why would Warrior want to be a part of that?

Aren't Warrior one of John Henry's companies? I thought there was some sort of link. The amounts involved just seem out of line with other kit sponsorship deals.

No. They're based in Boston, but they're owned by New Balance.

Well, it is worth slightly more than Man United's shirt deal, which is surprising, but not really massively so - certainly not like Etihad valuing Man City's naming rights at 400m or whatever it was. That one clearly was a fiddle.

Either way, they're not part of FSG in any case.

I think I might have unintentionally started that rumour with my comments on the previous page. I was linking the owners coming from the same country as an unknown non footballing kit manufacturer that suddenly decides to make a football kit.

But it is not surprising that New Balance sign a large deal with the Boston Red Sox and then a equally large deal with a subsidiary with Liverpool. They obviously have a good working relationship with John Henry.

I was in the club shop today and some of the stuff isn't as bad as I thought it would be, the lad said no-one had seen the home shirt and wouldn't until Saturday when it's launched, despite them unloading stacks of boxes of it outside, perhaps they were going to keep their eyes shut?

Have they got Macron stuff in then? There were plenty of empty shelves and hangers when I went down for PL's appearance The only new thing was a Lambert T Shirt and they had forgot to put that out until after he had been and gone. (didn't want to tempt fate?)

Yes, the training stuff looks almost identical to the Nike gear that's just been sold off.

Been checking out the kits in Rome this week, the Napoli shirt is good quality and Macron seem very well respected by the staff in the shops, expensive though at 80 euros a pop. The new Roma kit is smart, usually Kappa make crap kits. Was hoping to get our top before I leave on the 24th.
