It looks to me like Macron have two types of cut to their tops.  One is the loose fitting kind of top that Leeds, Sheff U etc. have.  The kit they make for Napoli seems to be a bit more fitted - and, in my opinion, looks better for it.  Is there any way you can knock up a mock kit with that fitted, continental kind of look?  Thanks if you can.

Putting things in to perspective; Adidas have just offered Liverpool significantly reduced terms due to their poor on field performance.  I'm speculating but, in light of Liverpools world fan base and a recent European cup win, those terms would be far greater than we could negotiate with a top line manufacturer. 
Like Under Armour, who Liverpool have just agreed a record deal with, Macron are trying to break the Uk market and will pay a premium to do so. Now I doubt they would have the required clout to do that with a Champions League regular so the next best thing would be a Villa or maybe Everton. If the money is good, the replicas well made and on time, and we're considered the flag ship team then I don't see the problem....it's just the name Macron sounds a bit shit and you'd likely be wedgied if you went to school in a pair of their trainers.

Liverpool have signed a big deal with Warrior Sports haven't they?  Why would Adidas offer them anything, even reduced terms on that basis?  Not sure where the Under Armour thing comes in either.

Sorry it's Spuds with under armour and Adidas valued Liverpool at significantly less than what Liverpool themselves thought they were worth. The point being that some were looking for us to bring in a big brand but what bargaining power do we have with such brands if Adidas don't believe Liverpool to be worth the money they are asking for? better just go for a relative unknown that wants to raise the profile of their brand with a Premier league side....for a reported record £15m deal.

I think that the outfits that Nike made for us are awful. The shade of claret is not the proper Aston Villa claret, and the materials are very poor as the design.

Although my favourite kit manufacturer is Umbro, I think that Macron will bring a touch of Italian design and that will be a strong improvement. It's better to be the biggest fish in their small pool than a small fish in the Nike sea.

Why do people give a shit about our kit manufacturer anyway? We should be looking at whoever can offer us the most money, anyone who thinks that the company that manufactures the shirt has direct relevance to club stature, or that it's important that we secure a sponsorship with a big-name company is woefully delusional.

The deal with Nike was good for publicity, and - to my untrained eye - raised the profile of the club. I'm sure Macron is less prestigious by comparison.

I never buy them, so am not personally bothered too much, but I'd say that if your kit supplier repeatedly supplies you with kit late, in the case of last year practically Christmas, thus making a big dent in your profitability, whilst pissing off all the fans who want to go on their summer trips to Faliraki in the new shirt but can't, then you are very right to start fishing around for someone who'll at least let you flog the stuff when you want to.

Also, weren't the kits from Nike invariably some shite doled out to a crap French club a year before or something? And weren't they also off piss poor quality? I looked at some in the club shop, and to me they looked unbelievably flimsy.

The Nike training great always looked very smart, but were the shirts all that?

If we're now operating in more austere times and have to live within our means, cash in the bank from the shirt supplier is worth a lot more to us than clueless far east television fans being able to walk straight past our kit to buy their new Man United clobber in Nike World Hong Kong, surely?

I definitely remember someone in Serie A wearing the same kit.

I used to love that kit at the time, but recently found a photo of myself wearing it, and thought actually, it was pretty horrible.

_{mind you, it could have been the sight of myself, about 5 stone lighter and 20 years younger that was really getting to me}
