Does anyone know the actual number of shirts we sell each season? I've read that United sell between 1.2 and 1.5 million per season on average and Liverpool, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal sell between 700 and 900,000.

100,000 was the figure I heard.

I would have guessed slightly less than that so that's pleasing. It'd be interesting to know exactly how much profit the club sees from that amount sold.

My point is that it wouldn't matter who manufactures our kit to the kids in Hong Kong, China, Thailiand or anywhere else that "Big Club" shirts are sold.
So what you're saying is every potential fan in Hong Kong, China, Thailand or anywhere else that "Big Club" shirts are sold will buy a fake replica shirt if they want a replica shirt? Thats only a slight racial stereotype ;)

It would be interesting (well maybe it wouldn't)  to see the total units sold including replica kits and training gear.

For all the stick RL has taken, I'm sure I seen a pretty sizeable contrast recently between the numbers pre and post takeover.  The association with Nike would have definitely helped in that regard.

;D No, Mate. Just the 20-30 that outnumbered the ones that I mentioned earlier. It's pretty much a market that we can never hope to penetrate.

Well, we'd certainly enjoy less penetration than Gary Glitter does down there, anyway, I would imagine.

2 more you might recognise the design.

I'd walk over hot coals for this one! Beautiful!

Going off on a slight tangent here, but can we have a claret lion on the badge please? I'm not sure who it ws in Villa's history, (someone on here will know) but when our original crest was designed a yellow lion was rejected because the colour yellow was synonymous with cowardice. I don't like tradition being changed for change sake, so why do owners meddle around with years of history. Anyway sorry for the little rant. Don't really mind who makes the kit as long as it is a "proper" shade of claret with sky blue arms, white shorts  and sky blue socks. No white, claret or black socks. WE ARE ASTON VILLA!! Not Burnley, West Ham or any other bloody imposter playing in the famous colours. A white away kit would be nice too! Picking up on what someone else mentioned earlier, how good would be if we could get a kit produced by Fred Perry, Lacoste or some up and coming young British designer.

Eric Houghton didn't like the yellow lion when it arrived in 1974 (I think) and black socks were worn for decades. One man's tradition is another's mew-fangled.

Putting things in to perspective; Adidas have just offered Liverpool significantly reduced terms due to their poor on field performance.  I'm speculating but, in light of Liverpools world fan base and a recent European cup win, those terms would be far greater than we could negotiate with a top line manufacturer.
Like Under Armour, who Liverpool have just agreed a record deal with, Macron are trying to break the Uk market and will pay a premium to do so. Now I doubt they would have the required clout to do that with a Champions League regular so the next best thing would be a Villa or maybe Everton. If the money is good, the replicas well made and on time, and we're considered the flag ship team then I don't see the problem....it's just the name Macron sounds a bit shit and you'd likely be wedgied if you went to school in a pair of their trainers.

Liverpool have signed a big deal with Warrior Sports haven't they?  Why would Adidas offer them anything, even reduced terms on that basis?  Not sure where the Under Armour thing comes in either.

There's a '*' next to Villa's name on the leaked team list. I assume this means it's not a done deal..

Risso: Adidas offered Racist FC a new deal at a large reduction in price, which is why they ended up with Warrior.

No, the asterisk points to something that says they start from next season's kit.
