Just had a look at the team photo from Rotterdam, I think most of the team wore Nike boots at a time
when Nike were a new supplier to the football market trying to get exposure, where addidas & Puma were the established brands.
A pity that a better relationship didnt develop over the years, however with regard to the next
kit supplier, imagine those skintight Kappa shirts on some of our lot.

A few years ago, someone on here posted a scan of a magnificent Nike advert from 1981/2, which (memory going fuzzy now) had the Villa team, and the slogan "Villa Park, Birmingham" on it.

I took a copy of it and squirrelled it away somewhere, but have lost it. Would love to see it again.

EDIT - actually, think it may have been "Villa Park, England".

Anyone find this?

It's a pic of the Villa dressing room with shirts hanging up and Nike boots underneath I think....wasn't it centre spread in the European Cup final programme?

There was another Nike poster, a picture of Withe just after he scored at Rotterdam, in the back of the goal, clenched fist, wide grin.. beautiful it was. I saw it once in a sports shop in Aberdeen of all places.... unless I dreamt it.

Oh, and in order to stay on topic, I like the weymouth kit

Really like them. Wish we could have Umbro, I think they do a good job for Man City.

Very smart. Sadly though we're gonna end up a with cheap Macron effort with their hideous trademark oversized emblam on the shoulders.

Loving the Umbro mock ups.  I'd be happy of those were our kits next season

If the Club asked the fans what they want, any kit maker will make a decent kit.

Well it has saved you £40 odd quid so I don't know what the constant moaning about them is about.

Marshall, that away kit is nice but I can't see Genting accepting their logo so small. Try it with the double stripe going from the left shoulder to the left hip and narrow them a bit and see how the logo works then. If I had a pc brain I'd have a go myself!

As for the manufacturer, the club won't announce who it is until March at least so there's no point in getting worked up about it before then. Got any Adidas mock-ups?

Those Umbro mock-ups are sheer class, marshall. I couldn't care less whose logo was on the front if we got two simple, elegant strips like that.

Love them all Marshall. I wouldn't mind seeing the old green and back as a third kit. Can you do a Puma version?

I know that John Greenfield says the club will seek supporter opinion ahead of the new kit. You want try and get in on that. You have some really nice ideas. Still love the yellow Nike you did (think it was you) a while back.
