So 40% wanted him sacked, that's "a lot" isn't it, considering the relatively strong position we were in at the time? At that time, amongst those people, he was just as unpopular as McLeish is now. Similarly Houllier and DOL got the dog's abuse.

I'm beginning to detect a pattern.
Chris there are a lot of people who wanted him out because of his connection with the other lot, there were quite a few that were concerned by his track record and style of football. You have to admit the way he sets up the team and the style we play is mind numbingly dull and failing. The only arguement could be that with the resources he has available that he has no other choice. I am  not sure that holds much water.

All these threads wouldn't turn into tedious Chris Vs The World if the rest of you equally tedious buggers didn't rise to the bait every single fucking time!

Another thread turned into the the Chris smith show. How boring it is getting.
Very tiresome indeed.

But nowhere near as boring or tiresome as the way a handful of posters are turning every thread into the Everything is Shit show.

it is pretty difficult to find much to be enthusiastic about, we are playing dreadfull football, there is a lack of enthusiasm both on and off the pitch, people are voting with thier feet and thier is no indication that anything is going to change any time soon.

Me too, Chris, me too. All that's missing is "breaking the three year cycle". (winky thang)

As for the match, I predict a Villa win, much to the disappointment of some on here. I hope we start with the same team as last week but with Petrov in for Jenas.

Chris, I wanted Mon out but not houllier. He had a long term vision. Mon and eck seem not too and play turgid football at home to boot.
Same here Ozz, I would have liked to have seen Houllier have a preseason and a full season, but alas it was not to be. At least the football would have been better than it is at the moment.

McCLeish needs the win and he needs the team to play with some attacking intent. Lets hope he doesn't disappoint us this time.

A draw.

What the fuck is wrong with that post? It's an indisputable fact that many people on here wanted MON out all the way through his last season, they then wanted Houllier out after a couple of months and they now want McLeish out.

You're acting like a bunch of bullies, because I don't fall into line and have an independent view you all think it is open season to have a pop at me.

You love it you slag.

I dread to think what would have been written if we had internet forums in the mid to late 80s when it was really crap.
I support McLeish and hope the players start to.

McMinge urging the team on the OS to be more wild-minded: that'll be a red card for Mutton then.

On the train.  Optimism is creeping in.  I think we'll win 2-1
