You have to say this is a must win, after this we don't surface until Swansea, lose this as in my opinion we will and its head for the lifeboats and hope we get rescued in time for Swansea.

By rescued I mean change.

I'm suddenly more hopeful after Mcleish revealed we are trying to copy Holland's footballing style.
Heskey is a perfect fit for what he described as "fluid football"

Did Houllier not refer to Heskey as Beckenbauer?

Closer we get to the game, the less confident I am am. Defeat. Followed by another week of calling for his head. I don't think, by the time he leaves, there will ever have been a more unpopular manager of Aston Villa.

The Heskey comment was a joke.

To a lot of you, MON was just as unpopular, as was DOL, many were also slagging off Houllier. It's just the way some people operate. The only difference this time is that they turned after 18 minutes not 18 months.

Laughable. AM really does love this guy, I suppose they can recall their favourite Blues moments to each other.

Laughable.

That's the normal reaction to jokes.

The most shocking thing to me is the amount of people who actually want us to lose.

How can I do an about turn on saying it is too soon to judge him?

On the wider point, you're completely wrong. I didn't change my mind on Houllier, I said give him time and repeated earlier in the week that despite the problems, he had done enough to have another season (if he'd been well enough). I haven't changed my mind on MON and argued as much to the Sunderland an on that thread. DOL, I said as we'd finished mid table he didn't deserve to be sacked and I'd judge him again at the end of the season.

I can understand why people are reacting as they are but it doesn't change the basic premise that I think there is far too little evidence on which to make an informed decision. I know all the arguments the other way so there's no need to repeat them but that is what I believe and I'm not going to compromise that just to fit in.
