I think I read or heard somewhere today that the stats show we are the worst team technically.

Hughes would be the obvious choice. Does anyone know why we didn't go for him in the summer?

With hindsight, that was so stupid. I genuinely thought we didn't go for him because we had somebody like Benitez in mind!

Yep. Better turn down a CL-winning manager as the guy with two relegations on his CV is such an engaging conversationalist. Allthough Benitez would have been an almost incomprehensible improvement on McLeish in terms of footballing knowledge and managerial ability, it's not certain that he'd be a success. He is known to be impatient with people that have limited football knowledge, so I'm not sure how he would have got on with Faulkner and Lerner. Also, SAF doesn't like him.

Not scored in 8 of our games despite having one of the best goalscorers in the league and the defence is still just as bad. The trigger must be pulled soon.

I did not want Hughes in the summer, but he suddenly looks as appealing as Heidi klum in a little black number-

He is not going to be sacked.   He was the owner's personal choice after the total balls up made by the board with their initial blundering.

Even if we are relegated they will keep him on because they will be able to spin him as the manager who is best at getting out of the Championship.   As was already said we are between a rock and a hard place.   If he keeps us up its job done and he stays.  If we go down he becomes the man to get us back up again.   Classic Catch 22.

Yes, I was not in favour of getting Hughes in the summer but that was back when I had hopes we'd try and go for somebody like Ancelotti. Now Hughes seems like a mirage in the desert.

Alas, if Randy really wanted to get a manager in with some clout he would have done it then surely?
McLeish's appointment says we're scraping the shittest barrel around. Even Doug would have come up with better.

So I have little or no faith Randy either knows what he's doing or will do what's right and admit he signed a turd.
They took us on by hiring McLeish and will want to prove themselves right even when its so very wrong. The letter from Rudolph will add weight to this.

Very, very depressing.
Just get somebody in who knows how to play football and can bring youth through. Please.

Help us, Obe wan Qatari.

He wont be sacked because our Absentee Landlord is er absent. There is nothing happening at our Club, we are just going through the motions of turning up and watching the season go by, no leadership, no direction, no passion and no glory.

We're stuck with him and life in the lower regions of the Premier League.

Good times.

McLeish picked the team that many wanted.
He was let down by several of the players.
I still support McLeish.

You've got to try and get Hiddink but I doubt he would come, although the optimist says that if he is prepared to do the Turkey and S. Korea gigs then villa might seem attractive.

He won't be sacked.

The chairman has rather amateurishly painted himself into a corner over this one.

Hang on a minute. I seem to remember Paul Faulkner saying something earlier. Something about wanting us to finish in a European spot and that's where we deserve to be? Well Paul, it's looking less and less likely with this man in charge so surely that means he has failed? Doesn't it warrant a sack? It couldn't possibly be lies could it.  ::)

Holloway, Coyle, Lambert, Keegan, the chap at MK Dons, Martinez, Brendan Rodgers, Poyet, Saunders, I'd be happy with any of them, all better than what we got now and all will play more attractive football.

But it's not going to happen is it
