The timing is poor and he's daft to say stuff like this to a journalist. Light the torches.

Clearly wants out of the Club but won't ask for a transfer and lose his fee. It's almost like a plea to MON to come and get him. Shame as I always liked him but that's disrespectful to our club and fans.

Ah just another gem to add to the calamity that is Villa at the moment.

I'm surprised the OS haven't done an article on it saying how "fab" it us that Petrov has always aspired to play for the mighty Liverpool

I quite like Stan as a person.  That's poor from him though, and it's not as if you can really interpret him meaning anything else from those quotes.

to be fair he's just saying he's a bindipper fan. Its not like he's angling for a move is it. He's got no chance in that direction anyway.

Can someone please sit down and explain to our players, as a group, that it's really not acceptable to air these type of views to the media.

You'd think the captain, a player who's been at the club a few years would understand anyway. Mind you given the way the last manager behaved up there and other players comments in the past, you begin to wonder if the club from the top down are happy to accept their position as scouse/manc/cockney lapdogs.

He may end up playing in Liverpool soon. Do Tranmere need a sideways passing midfielder who is knackered after an hour?

Incredibly insensitive from the captain.

A Houllier, touch the crest type foot in mouth.
As some one who watched his debut and thought,  "wow we could have someone here", to "well I like him and think he gets slagged off to much" my thought tonight is fuck off and join MON !!!
