Our midfield just doesn't work, wrong shape, wrong individuals. They don't protect the back four properly, they don't keep possession and provide nothing going forward. Therein lies the root of our problems.

Did we add an extra 0 when buying Delph - mind you he doesn't even look like a £600,000 player let alone £6m

Hope all of those who wanted him to play instead of Petrov are happy today - let's hope his injury doesn't keep him out for too long

The board have raped our club. They've actually raped it.

Oh please, control yourself.

Oh do shut up. Have a moan by all means but you don't half come out with some bollocks.

Actually, you can see why Randy doesnn't come to the games anymore; their gameplay is so unwatchable ...

Yep, flying the Atlantic is expensive to see a pile of expensive shit, unless it is the new Tracy Emin art exhibit.

And if he doesn't come and watch us he has no idea how bad we really are and thus can justify refusing to open his wallet in January to himself.
Would you want this manager spending the money, though?

This is about as pleasant as watching a block of frozen piss melt on your nice new carpet.

This is fucking terrible, I'm afraid.

The sight of the centre halves just lumping the ball 60 yards up field at every opportunity is beyond depressing.

As for that utter fucking moron Hutton, what is wrong with him? He is utterly, utterly fucking brainless.

Delph has contributed next to nothing other than to get himself booked within minutes.

Sorry, but if we play much more of the season like this, we are going to be in a relegation fight before we know it.

We also have a near total lack of movement off the ball, the number of times we've had someone in possession with ZERO options because nobody is moving off the ball is just so frustrating. We then end up playing at best a 50/50 ball and giving possession away AGAIN.

This really is dire, and I'd rather we just sacked him now than play like this for much more of the season. This is what he does, this is his thing, he's not going to undergo some damascene conversion to attacking, passing football.

Gash.

Dross........players frustrated, almost look like they don't know what's next, what to do, static, Gabby getting very frustrated with Bent, Bent invincible again.

The only positive you can take form this is 1) sign Leighton Dyer and 2) the longer it goes on without a goal the more chance Swansea are of conceding, they can't play us of the park possession wise for 90mins that's for sure.

Same old same ole.......

Well, a very disappointing half, that, although one played under very sad circumstances it must be remembered.

Nonetheless, we seem to have continued in the same vein as the Spurs game (conceding huge amounts of posession), which is poor stuff.

Watched from about 33 mins in. The commentator was talking about Rooney and Zamora when I tuned in, so I imagine that's a fair reflection on the previous half hours excitement?

From what I've seen it doesn't look so good, not very imaginative football from Villa who still tend to look for the long ball. When it looks like there's a break on, the players check themselves and pass sideways. Where's the urgency? The players look so lethargic.

Swansea don't look that much better either to be honest.

Good job Swansea for all their neat football don't score many goals. At the minute we don't do neat football or score goals. Surely he has to change it - get Hutton, Heskey and Delph off, get Carlos, Bannan and Jenas on. We can start holding on to the ball in midfield. create some chances and get some service to Bent

If only Lerner had any choice in who the manager was. It's as if the club won him in a low-budget charity raffle.

I think that's a little exaggerated, calling Alex McLiesh a manager, steady on.
