I've said it before this season, and I'll say it again.  Ireland and Bannan need to be in the same team.
.

Stephen Ireland takes a lot of stick around here -a fair bit of it is justified, mind. Yet he and wee Barry were at the heart of everything we did well v QPR  in the second half.  And then soon after that match (around the time Ivanhoe returned to something approaching full fitness... for him) SI was banished again.

He might blow hot and cold, but Ivanhoe is consistently Baltic.

It was after his non performance at Man City that Ireland returned to his natural habitat.

I hope we go down there and try to win the match.

Any less and he will rightly get slaughtered.

Very rowdy down Swansea tonight. I could hear "Who needs Barry" and "Gabby Gabby Gabby" several streets away

That could well be 'you know who and his mates'.

For anybody coming down tomorrow,it's wet, windy and cold.

It's often like this in Wales.

Where our caravan is we often 'lose' the weather in the mountains.  Bit of a shock to find  that it really is cold, wet and windy in Wales.

We have to go to play, if we do that we have a chance. If we play this inept shut up shop tactic we are destined to be beaten and deservedly so.

I am more nervous about this match than I have been about a game for ages.

I honestly feel this is a pivotal moment. We have the chance to bury the utter embarrassment of Monday.

We either take the chance or we let it fester.

The big problem is that we all expect to beat Swansea but unfortunately they aren't mugs at the Liberty and we might find it more difficult than we expect.

The thing is, though, we all know that in the PL, outside the top clutch of  clubs, it is all pretty meh, there's really not much exceptional going on, so not taking three points would not be the biggest of surprises.

What isn't on, though, is going down there and not trying to win the match.

I can't believe McLeish would be stupid enough to do that after Monday night, though.

In fact, that's the stupid thing about playing the way we did on Monday. Had we gone down there and *tried* to compete in the match, regardless of the result, there would be considerably less pressure on us than there is now looking at tomorrow's match.

He's efffectively got all those scrutinising him - and some of them will indeed be looking for the slightest excuse to slaughter him - extra vigilant, just looking for the chance to give him a kicking.

That's what makes Monday so fucking infuriating.

The other aspect to it is if we have a manager that effectively says after the game 'Spurs are in a different league to us so it's OK to go there and not even attempt to win'  he really has to maximise games against the 'lesser' sides.

It's a pressure he has created all for himself.

McLeish was always going to be under pressure at the slightest negative performance or result. Monday was atrocious, but AM has a chance to redeem himself with a good performance/ result today.

I think we will go looking for a draw and will mange to scrape one. With the likes of Heskey,Hutton,Warnock and Collins in the side a draw is the best i can see us getting.
