Villa 3-1 Chelsea 1992
« on: November 12, 2011, 06:34:23 AM »

Penultimate home game of BFR's first season and after much wheeler-dealing our team  was pretty much the one that would finish 2nd the following year following the transfers-to-come of  Houghton and Saunders.
Pretty decent game, decent away support from Chelsea (i wonder how many of their current fans could name their first XI that featured in this one) and many happy memories.

Was that the one where they broke the cross-bar at the end of the game?   Or was it the one where they cause havoc in New St station before the game......

I think that was after the 2-2 at the end of 1990-91.

Didn't Ian Olney get sent off in that game?

And I think they were two up in five minutes.

Harping back to Chelsea, do you remember the game they won one nil and Dennis Wise, gave it large to a bloke who was dissing him in the game after he scored.

They were - David Platt scored the equaliser from a penalty - his last Villa goal.

I remember Wise (my least favourite footballer of all time) running back to the halfway line sort of mock patting himself on the head after scoring but that might have been another game.

The Wise celebration was him winding up a bald bloke who had been giving him pelters during the game - Chelsea won 1-0. I only know this because it was on They Think it's All Over many years ago.

Odious little gobshite.

Dennis fucking Wise. Little ******. I got mugged on Ian Taylors home debut against Chelsea. It might have been the first time the seated Upper Holte was open.
