You may all recall in a bizarre twist of concidence, John Robson rocked up to manage Pelsall Villa at some point in the early 80's.  I've still got his autograph in green felt pen!

I can only think of a few clubs with unique names: Port Vale, Sheffield Wednesday, Tottenham Hotspur, Nottingham Forest, Crewe Alexandra, MK Dons . Anyone think of anymore? Probably a few in Scotland

Hamilton Academical, Iverness Caledonian Thistle

There's also Partick Thistle in Scotland.

And don't forget Accrington Stanley. Accrington is the town and one of the founders of the league.  'Stanley' is from a working men's club in Accrington who were originally - wait for it - Stanley Villa!

I came across a Park Villa in Ireland somewhere once but can't remember if they are like a non league club or if it was just an under-age thing. I'll try to find out.

Port Vale are unique as well aren't they? Only club not to be named after the place they are in

There is an Ashtown Villa over here too.

Isn't their official name still something like Bournemouth & Boscombe Athletic Football Club? They just use AFC Bournemouth as a trade name as it's a bit less of a mouthful?
