Is it me or do we always look laboured, shapeless and largely uninventive.

Nope. That's really what we look like.

We also tack the notion of "lack of movement off the ball" to a whole new level.

We're a very poor side, unfortunately.

Every set piece they have you know it will be a quality delivery into the box and we will struggle. You just never feel that the other way around do you?

Lionel Heskey was poor in his giveaway but Hutton and Collins looked like 12 years old with their defending

Hutton & Jenas are both shit.  Complete waste of money, time and effort.

Ah, we're back!

Not a disastrous first half, but not great either. We look very average, but then so do Sunderland, so we'll have to hope one of our 'magic' players (Agbonlahor, N'Zogbia) comes up with something before one of theirs (Sessegnon).

Two poor sides we can win this if we go for it. Best i have Nzogbia this season. I feel for Bent no service whatsoever typical we sign a goalscorer then sell the supplyline.

Why is it when we take the lead you know there's a strong possiblity the opponent will equalize and probably win the match. I think we're currently at the top of the table of giving points away.
Why is it that the second we concede a goal or lose a game, Compass decides to reappear?

You missed the "lete" from the middle of his user name.

We're creating quite a few chances, but look ropey at the back. N'Zogbia and Gabby look dangerous I reckon. Bent and Heskey don't. Hutton dived in awfully for the goal and we don't look structured / organised. I reckon they'll score again so we'll have to as well.

Agree. Think we should have held on to Downing for this season. Letting both Young and Downing go at the same time was a huge mistake

It's difficult to over-state the impact of that. I had very high hopes for N'Zogbia (even though I knew he's no Ashley Young), but the reality is disappointing so far. I'm sure he'll come good (N'Zogbia, I mean), but having Bent in the team with next to no supply is unbelievably frustrating.

Thank God Agbonlahor is raising his game this season!

Not too bad first half Nzogbia's looking better Heskey's putting himself about and a wonder strike from Petrov. Should have a free kick on Nzogbia but Hutton should have done better on the Goal!

Stats claim Heskey's run the furthest distance out of the villa players first half!

I hate Hutton.

He has been decent going forward today in fairness and linked well with Nzogbia.

Watching replay of the goal he takes more of the blame than Collins. No need of him to lose his position and get tight on Segesson. The space he vacated was critical for Wickham to get space for the shot.

We are creating some good chances. Gabby not happy on the left, giving away some stupid fouls. Bent not happy either with no real service.

Nzogbia has been much better today. Warnock has been ok again. Dunne has been solid as has Collins as per usual. Petrov ok, great goal. Herd struggling though not on the ball at all.
