Head says 1-1...heart says 2-1 defeat...I hope I'm wrong but with 3 straight defeats and with a difficult run of fixtures, this could be the beginning of the end for Gingernuts, lets face it, its not going to take much is it? If Heskey starts it will say an awful lot.

That would probably be the safest bet for this game I'm afraid.

I'm expecting Heskey to return to the side in for Bannan.

I sense a defeat sadly. To be honest, the most depressing thing about the Villa right now is the midfield. Putting aside the loss of Young and Downing on either flank, I look at our centre and there's no player I genuinely rate.
Petrovs had it.
Jenas is bobbins.
Delph isn't good enough.
Bannan isn't consistent enough and IMO has to play in front of a solid midfield 2 anyhow.
Ireland, as above.
Herd isn't good enough and it says it all that many are calling for him to play. That's what it's come to.

I think we'll get turned over personally.

Agree, Tom. Midfield's been significantly weakened over the last two seasons and even further in the summer - that area of the team completely neglected. We're really suffering now because of it, no wonder we can't get a foothold in games. Chuck in the fact that Bannan's not available for the Sunderland game and we're light there. Jenas supposedly training today but the game's probably too soon for him.

Personally, I think I'd just go for a solid three v Sunderland - Clark, Delph, Herd - to combat the likes of Cattermole (whoever thinks Hutton plays rough, watch this guy) and keep things tight and us in the game. Albrighton-Bent-Gabby as a front three.
