Willie Anderson should have gone down in the first ten minutes when he charged into the area. but he didnt cheat and thats to his credit. I was speaking to Fred Turnbull a couple of months ago and he said we didnt do that kind of thing back then.

Well we didnt but Marsh and Lee most certainly did!

The second greatest match I ever experienced. The first is on the official website now!  And yes I was in Rotterdam but for a lot of us of a certain age there was nothing like those two wonderful matches in 1971 either before or after.

Agreed Ron, there was nothing like that period supporting the Villa for me.

I was 8 years old when I watched this game with my Dad and being in Cambridge at the time we had to endure those Spurs fans celebrating, I was in tears as they danced around the back room of our Nan's pub.
I remember the Villa playing very well and loving the Claret and Blue kit, especially as Spurs were in boring white, I still wear this classic Villa kit to matches.

my Dad said don't worry we will have our day..75/77 League Cups and Champions 10 years later, European Champions 11 years later....
thanks Dad
