Herd is a natural midfielder not a right back, so we needed an experienced right back and hutton was the best available
Really? Hutton was the best right back, of all those we could have signed?

Hmmm.
name one experienced right back, at a price we could have afforded?
I don't need to - I'm asking whether of all the right backs around, whether Hutton was the best, and finding it hard to think he was.

How about not selling Luke Young? In fact, how about playing Herd? Or Beye?
as i already said herd isnt a right back full stop, he was a fill in when we had no options. young was in the last year of his contract, he wanted to leave so we got what we could for him. beye is a waste of space.

for the money we had a available, yes hutton was the best we could get because we just arent an attractive team to top qaulity players at the moment

Would it be THAT bad an idea to give Beye a game?

Shame for Ireland, hope that's not too serious as he was just starting to look a bit handy. I don't know if I'd have bought Heskey on, but we'll see. I'd have sent on Albrighton, I think.

Isnt'a right back, full stop? He was a fill in and looked better than Hutton has.

It's nothing to do with the quality of players we can attract, Hutton doesn't even look good enough to be in the top flight, let alone playing for us.

Wes Brown, for example, cost one quarter of what Hutton did, and although not particularly brilliant, he is compared with Hutton.

Fair play Ireland had his best game for us I reckon. Not great, but an improvement.

I would have NZogbia for him but I guess he will be on for Bent soon.

Agreed, if nothing else he looked to be putting in the effort, which is the first time I've said that since he joined.
