This is all much better. It's so refreshing to have options in midfield! The only thing I can think of is that it would be even better if we had Makoun instead of Delph in the middle at the moment, but hey.

Hopefully Ireland will be taken off, I don't think he's even completed a successful pass all game?

Cracking goal from Gabby, and a much much better start than last week.

How bad is Hutton, seriously shit.  Out of position constantly and can't cross for toffee.  Awful.

He gets sold more times than a dodgy car.

Funny game. Slow, ponderous, and with an odd shape. But we've had 3-4 really good chances. I'd be inclined to bring N'Zogbia on for Delph tho we need to see if Ireland's injured first.

Bent should have had a couple. Gabby and Bannan the standouts for me. Bannan looks really good. Confident, keen to make the killer pass. Doesn't get his head down if he makes a mistake.

Have to say, I normally don't like to write players off, but Hutton thus far looks like one of the worst players we've had for a long time.

What a top quality strike from Gabby, freakin world class, time, placement, picked his spot and whack top of the net.

And that cross form Gabby for Benty, DB really should have had that....

Beauty of a goal - but Delph has almost cost us twice with shit passing.

Good first half, that. We really can play some good stuff at times, and Gabby's goal was superb. Bannan and Ireland (one misplaced pass aside) have been impressive, and the defense look in control of things. Not the best half from Delph again, but Petrov is doing a very good job in there.

Promising.

Mouthwatering mate, he's just booked his England spot.
