Just because he is a Villa supporter does not make him a great bloke, and in classical terms, his violin playing is not up to scratch (pun intended)

Likewise, nice to hear he is in full health - as fit as a fiddle apparantly

He was on 'This Week' on Thursday night talking about travellers/gypsies/Dale Farm issue. Talked some sense and sure he's a great bloke, but I wish he'd stop calling people 'cats'

I've only met him a few times but I've always found him pleasant and approachable. As a violinist he is excellent

He is unique in that he is a 'celebrity football fan', who actually knows a great deal about the team he supports.

Why isn't he a great bloke? Genuine question

I knew of him and went to a few of his concerts before he came out as a Villa fan.  I genuinly don't like his style of violin playing and his opinion, alluded to on Radio 4 this morning that if you don't like my style of play you are a snob.  If anything I find him to be a inverted snob.

I too have met him face to face a few times, and once side by side in a toilet at West Ham and yes, he's fine, but I stick to my original statement, just because he is a Villa supporter does not make him a great bloke.  I know many Villa supporters who are absolute tossers (me included at times)

I have given my reasons, so I now throw the question back, why do you say he is a great bloke?

He had a season ticket for the seat I'm front of me in the upper Holte back in the 90s and he was a thoroughly decent bloke back. He used to give us free tickets to away matches, and was always friendly and welcoming to anyone who approached him. In fact he's what I'd refer to as a 'great bloke'.
