3-1 win. Gabby, Petrov and Warnock.
My mate is manager of O'neils in Shephards Bush which is a good location for pre and post match drinks. He is also a blue nose but will be well up for a bit of banter.

Hmmm. I'm beginning to wonder whether it's worth bringing Clark into the side, in the defensive midfield role he played at times last season. I liked him there. He'll give us more height, more of a physical presence, and bit more discipline - and he can play a bit too. I'd trust him to do the simple things right, not to mention provide a threat at set-pieces. If he's fit, of course.

I just think our midfield's all wrong at the moment. We need three players in there to give us any chance of getting a grip on games. I'd seriously consider starting with Clark sitting deep, and Jenas and Bannan ahead of him. The latter covers, the forward two get on the ball, go box to box, etc. If that's seen as too much change too quickly, I guess Petrov could replace Clark and the midfield reverts to a straight three rather than an inverted triangle, but I can't help thinking we'd be better off, longer term, bringing in something that has a better balance. Not sure what to do with Petrov these days.

I like Delph, but for me he's better going forward and I think he's suffering at the moment, doing too much of a defensive role. I'd sit him out for this one. He could potentially replace Bannan in the second half.

If Bent's fit it's him up front, flanked by Gabby and N'Zogbia. If not, Gabby with Albrighton and N'Zogbia.

I'd go along with most of that. Clark or petrov as the defensive midfielder as they can at least tackle. Jenas/Delpth to do the leg work and Bannon/ireland to create.. Not sure all of them are suited to those roles but needs must

QPR 1 - 0 ASTON VILLA

A 40 yard effort by Joey Barton in the 3rd minute looks like Given's all the way until he slips on the remains of where Richard Dunne followed through in the 6 yard box dring the warm up after a heavy drinking session the night before. The rest of the game sees Aston Villa fail to find a team mate with a pass even once, a new PL record. Some Villa fans have to be treated later by paramedics for 'clinical boredom'.

Have a pound on it. You might bankrupt a bookie with the odds you would get though should it happen!!

Winding up Barton is very much a plan we should be using...

I've actually sold Samir Nasri from my fantasy football team this week so that I could bring Joey Barton in just for this game as I am convinced that he and his team mates will run riot.  I can't see how our "midfield" if you can call it that is going to deal with the steel that he provides in the middle of the park.  Add that to SWP running at the woeful Alan Hutton and I think we are looking at another defeat.

3-0 to QPR.

I think, if anything, we've been too attacking in the last few games.

I'd go with...

Given
Hutton
Collins
Clarke
Warnock
Dunne
Baker
Herd
Beye
Lowry
Guzan

Guzan to play in the 'hole' just between our sixth and seventh central defenders.

Christ, what has the board done to us to the point where we think a promoted team who hasn't been in the Premier League for ages will destroy us?

We really need to force the board out somehow. They've had too many free passes for my liking and it's about time the fans raised their voices to know we don't want them associated with this club anymore. They are the core of the problem and in time they will relegate us with more of their fuck ups in the future.
