I wonder if it will ever come out why MON really left? I wanted rid of him if I'm completely honest but it appears he made the right decision with the way things have gone since?

It's so glaringly obvious now why he left. I am not too proud to admit I got that badly badly wrong at the time. I was anti O'Neill for about a year before he left and considered him the devil incarnate for walking when he did.

Now I believe the tension was there for a year but he stuck it out. I think he left when he did, not to do us maximum damage, but because something absolutely awful must have happened (being given Stephen Ireland for a start).

I agree.........

I blame the board for appointing him after the fiasco with GH

AM plays the most horrible anti football we are ever likely to see at VP - probably on a par with Billy McNeill

A fucking Sunday league manager would have more idea.

AM has a far superior squad than he had a Small Heath and he's still shit

McLeish still has a playing staff capable of beating Bolton Reserves.  And the opening fixture list was so good, he could have drawn it himself.

He's a mediocre manager, whose teams play dull football and shouldn't have been good enough for us.

McLeish out.

You beat me to it

The bloke is a c***

He went for a top job and got it. Stop shooting the fucking messenger. He's a decent bloke.

If you have a problem with him, point the finger at the people who appointed him so that they'd have somebody to blame for us turning shite when we sold our best players and didn't replace them.

I point the finger at people who said ' Imagine Mcleish if he was backed with money '

Quite.

No wonder he's since vanished from the face of the earth.

If we go out of this then serious question have to asked, even at this stage of the season, because the rest of the season will be based on survival

Yeah we didn't hear much from The General after that comment, he clearly knew what was on the horizon and fucked off before having to face the flak on here.

Mcleish is not a c***, he seems like a nice enough bloke. Unfortunately he's been left hanging by the board.
He picked a light weight midfield,  he sets out the tactics,  he motivates the team.

I think it's far more likely that he had no idea at all what was on the horizon.
