I remember trouble after the 4-1 defeat, not this one. That was a cracking day that.

"We'll be back" said the placard. Any decade now...

Ah what memories!

I couldn't get a ticket in my usual upper hotle spot, so unusually I had a ticket at the very far end of the upper trinity so right above the coventry fans in the lower north.

What a day - they were giving it so much at 2-0 up, and dancing round like they'd won the league, only to watch them slip back into their box as the second half went on.

There was indeed a fair bit of trouble after the game - nothing serious but plenty of posturing and I remeber a load of Villa running them down WItton lane out towards Witton Station.....

One of my favorite villa memories!

Yes, there was!!!  I remember the game but particularly remember being chased by the riot police afterwards.  There was a gang of us over from Dublin and the WM police decided it would be a good idea to put the Coventry 'fans' on one side of the road beside Witton Station and the Villa over the other side (with traffic still flowing in between).  Anyway I'm sure someone from the Villa side threw a coin and the whole thing kicked off....

I've never been so frightened in all my life - getting chased by a load of baton and shield-wielding coppers.  I was also with a junior member of the club (16-year old) and I was worried that if he fell he would get trampled.  We got chased up a hill towards a line of coppers on the top and they wouldn't let us through.  I tried explaining to the gentleman in the blue uniform that we were going to get crushed if he didn't let us through, but he wasn't interested.  To my complete relief this huge Villa fan body-checked a load of people and we managed to squeeze through the barrier. Thank you sir!  ;)
