If that is the team, there can't really be any question of attacking intent.

Yes but it's a big if, id love us to go 442, but I think if Marc starts he will play gabby wide and N'Zogbia in behind.

I'm not sure that's a bad thing.

It's not as if with Marc-N'Zogbia-Gabby behind Bent they will rigidly be sticking to their positions.

I'm quite happy to see Gabby running at Danny Simpson.

On the basis of "must score against former club", I'm going with...

Villa 4 (N'Zogbia 23, Jenas 87, Beye 90+1, Given 90+4 (pen))
Newcastle 0

Jenas still injured? I haven't bothered to pay any attention to football this week. I forgot about Ireland.

5-0 then.

Maybe Steve Stone could come off the bench to make it 5-1?

Difficult game, we can do this and we should do it.

This should be a resounding victory and should put a stop to the run Newcastle are having.

Newcastle travel well. I hope we pack the stadium, and we start to see a turn in the mood of the doubters. It does the team no good at all to see empty seats or a quite stadium. We need it rocking tomorrow.

Fill the stadium...i dont think so

the fact that you'll likely be proved correct is the disappointing bit. Villa being succesful is all that matters and the fans part on match day has been, and always will be critical to that.

Sorry if this has been discussed here or elsewhere but I've just read on the Telegraph that McLeish is presiding over our best start in 5 years! Well I never....

The year Wigan beat us first game, we ended up winning 4 out of the first 5, or it may even have been 5 out of 6. That beats 2 wins and 3 draws in my book.
