question -

if the side is to defensive, and AM plays safe with his lineups
if we need to be more creative and give our forwards more supply
if we are turning into a Bluesish team playing boring football,

none of which i disagree with,

why do people still want a defensive midfielder  ?  wouldnt that just make us worse  ?

Well, I suppose the theory is that a good one frees up the creative players more, or allows us to play with two wingers and two strikers.

Everton fans were their usual whingy seleves. No songs. Just moaning.

I know it's bad to make generalisations, and I actually quite like Everton as a club, but for a long time their fans truly have been the most whingey, miserable, chip-on-the-shoulder tits in the league.

Couldn't agree more, that lot just drones on and on.

Good at putting refs under pressure though.

While at the same time believing themselves to be so fucking special.

Did anyone else seem to notice Bannan's defensive duties on the right flank? Late game tactics to release Gabby into a more attacking role, maybe..?

A hard won point. After the first half I was seriously worried. I'd love to know what AM said at half time that galvanised the second half performance. Maybe he should give his half time talk before kick off. :)
Great to see Gabby throw his shirt into the crowd when he scored, the yellow card doesn't matter, the point does.
And a big up to the travellers, you drowned out their fans for long periods Can we please have the same amount of noise at Villa Park next week?.

I think McLeish told Gabs to play up with Bent when we went behind again. So I suppose Barry went wide right.

That's kind of what I thought, but Barry would still roam throughout the field and onto the left. I'm glad to see a CM playing with such freedom and responsibility do it so well. Hope he keeps it up, I see no reason why he wouldn't.

Four games in and unbeaten, while at the same time having a new manager and new players yet to Bed into the side.

It could be a whole lot worse

We got a point, and I got to hear Stuart Hall on the radio spitting nails about it. Good.

Dreadful performance but I'm happy with the point.
Must do the lottery tonight with that sort of luck.
Dunne man of match - great goal from petrov but hard to understand how we got a point - everton must be devastated not to have won by at least 3 goals.

Just back from the game. We were poor and uninspiring - especially 1st half. Lucky to nick a draw. The ref was lenient as he could have a given at least another penalty. Pluses: Given & Dunne brilliant. Bannan definitely needs to start. Ireland added a spark and worked v hard when hew came on. Minuses: Delph, Nzog and Warnock (seems to be spitefully petulant - not sure whether it's because it was Everton. All in all happy with a draw. The substitutions AM made seemed well timed as well.

They have also taken a dislike to us for some reason?

I think thats 11 league games since they last beat us so probably something to do with it.
