Is Enda really that uncommon a name over there? That said, I've lost count of the amount of people who've had problems with my name........

It's a real Irish name. Even some Irish people (especially around Dublin) struggle with it, sure look at the way Enda Kenny used to be ridiculed as Edna for a time? As a name it wouldn't feature anywhere else save the odd Irish community in the UK or the US.

Enda Kenny used to be ridiculed because he was (is) easily ridiculed. Strange one, guess when you're so used to a name it's strange to see others find it so odd. I've about 5 or 6 mates called Enda.

Is anybody else old and sad enough to remember Cousin Enda played by David Kelly in the late 60's sitcom "Me Mammy" which starred Milo O'Shea?

Don't know anything about him, but from McLeish's quotes he's been scouted for a while.

Let's hope he can be our Seamus Coleman.

If you're going to hope he becoomes our whoever why not set the bar higher than Eamon Deacy and Seamus Coleman?

I hope he becomes our Roy Keane.

I remember the programme and my Dad loved Milo O'Shea  (I pretended to like it to stay up an extra half hour), but I can't recall Cousin Enda. I think David Kelly later reinvented himself as Dermot Kelly, but I may be wrong in that - it's what my dad used to tell us when he was watching Robin's Nest anyway.

I thought it was Dermot as well. Yootha Joyce and Ray McAnally also featured.

Yup I'm watching it too, he looks like Rovers' best player!
Good deal.
