Dont know if anyones interested but I have noticed a distinct pattern, especially in this country when it comes to arch rivals and their respective kits.
The dominant teams play in red, the less succesful rivals in blue, if we call claret a kind of red then this includes us as well
e.g.  Liverpool-Everton......undoubtedly the reds have dominated in the last 30 years
       Man Utd-Man City......easy one that
       Arsenal-Spurs...another easy one
       Villa-Blues.... a complete no brainer
       Bristol City-Bristol Rovers...ok, both shite but City have been consistently higher.
       Sheff Utd-Sheff Wed...probably the exception as neither have done much of note for decades.   Just a meaningless observation.
