Thanks to a leak within the club I have managed to obtain a copy of the minutes relating to Item 8 on the agenda.  Here is what they say.

Aston Villa Board Meeting 25 May 2011.  Agenda Item 8.  Maintaining Crowds of 40k plus at Villa Park and the 'wow' factor.  CEO Paul Faulker opened the discussion.  'Here's what we do.  'I say we sell both Youngs, Downing, release NRC, Carew, Friedel,not sign Walker, and the only signings we make should be Given and N'Zogbia. Oh, and let's appoint Alex McCleish (before the others in the queue beat us to it) as the new, young, vibrant manager"?'All those in favour? Carried.  I'll fly to Corsica next week.'
