We could have been far more attacking with our line-up if we wanted. Still, lets see how we do.

I'd expect to beat Blackburn at home easily enough. (for me the worst team in the league outside of the promoted clubs)

So i'd hope we'd try and play with a bit of ambition, a bit of creativity.  We have players in the squad who can do that.

He needs something more in midfield against this lot; a good opportunity for Makoun, not taken.

In case you haven't noticed, Makoun is not PL standard.
A stupid waste of £6m, thanks GED

For me, Makoun is one of the only players in our entire squad who can actually pick a pass. If we're looking to get it down and pass it, he'd be a decent shout.

Agreed. Also, if Makoun's not to standard, then what the fuck is Heskey?

No I hadn't noticed. I had noticed that he adds something positive both creatively and in the tackle.
Based on your previous comments, you seem to have a somewhat idiosyncratic opinion; fair enough/

So all the talk about having creativity with Ireland, and him getting another chance is nonsense then.  If he's not playing, it'll be the same as last time, and he'll not be interested.  Should be playing today, we need far more guile than we'll get from tumbling bear and Gabby.

I've not seen enough of Makoun to make a judgement to be fair.

Frankly today I don't care as long as we win.

Considering we're clearly scaling down, which I understand and have little issue with, all I now ask is to be entertained. That's clearly not on the agenda.

Today should be about racking up the goals, improving the confidence and setting the scene for a half decent season, not scraping a win against arguably the worst side in the league.

Depends entirely on what you want from him.  If you view him as a replacement for NRC then you'll be let down.  He is a good passer of the ball though and because he has the ability to knock it about without having to take six touches to control it, that opens up space for other people.
