Most humiliating pre season result ever?
« on: July 31, 2011, 05:32:34 PM »
There are often a few shockers in friendlies, especially as clubs often don't send their strongest 11. But this?

Alfreton Town 14 - 0 Sheff Weds.

Did Weds send their under 11 side or something?

Didn't Newcastle get whipped 6 - 0 at Doncaster(or was it Orient?) a couple of years ago? Then they stormed away with the league.

It was their academy players, but apparently this has been an ongoing bone of contention for a while.
Here is a link to a match thread on one of their fan sites as it slowly dawned what was happening.
